The maternal instincts of Britney Spears have been fodder for constant columns in the press and jokes by late-night comedians. Now that she's pregnant with a second child, the pop starlet knows that the attention won't be going away any time soon, so she's decided to improve the team around her, replacing the nanny who was reportedly on duty when baby Sean Preston tumbled out of his chair. The new nanny is a "manny," a former Navy cadet and lacrosse coach named Perry Taylor.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin recorded a duet with Nelly Furtado for her new album, Loose. But listeners will notice that the duet, "All Good Things (Come To An End)," has turned solo on the final cut. Furtado says that when the suits at Martin's record label heard their sensitive, multi-platinum singer cutting a little too loose on Loose, they yanked him off the record.
"Chris's label didn't want his voice sounding so rocky, so they said we couldn't use the song," Furtado reported. "Now it's on the album with just me singing it."

Em and his lawyers have arrived at a settlement with one of the companies, Colorado-based Cellus USA, but still have unresolved lawsuits with five others: FanMobile, Nextones.com, MatrixM, Phattones Media Productions, and myPhonefiles.
Slim Shady attorney Howard Hertz said that the settlement was "amicable," but further details were cloaked under a confidentiality agreement. Cellus USA has agreed to stop distributing the ringtones, but it is not known whether they also paid a financial penalty.

A Chicago judge agreed to allow the videotape, which prosecutors claim shows the R&B superstar having sex with a 13-year-old girl, to be screened in open court. The footage, which has been widely disseminated online, is the core piece of evidence in Kelly's child-pornography case that's scheduled to go to trial this summer.
At a hearing on Thursday, Cook County Criminal Court Judge Vincent Gaughan said the people's right to know the details that resulted in the "Trapped in the Closet" singer being charged with 14 counts of child pornography trumps his attorney's argument that showing the sexually explicit material could lead to Kelly not getting a fair trial.
"This is the whole crux and linchpin of the case. If there was no tape, we wouldn't have a case," the judge said, per the Chicago Tribune. "I find there is not an overarching interest for excluding the public and the press from the portion of the trial that is the linchpin."
