KYLIE Minogue has been whisked away to an exclusive holiday resort by a handsome married film director.

Pop superstar Kylie, single since she was dumped by love-rat Olivier Martinez three months ago, is on a sunshine break in South America with dashing Alexander Dahm, 39.

Kylie burst into a radiant grin when collected by father-of-one Dahm at Santiago Airport in Chile on Wednesday after flying 7,000 miles around the world to be with him. He cuddled her and fondly stroked her hair.

Kylie and Dahm first met in January on a film shoot in Acapulco, Mexico, when Kylie was modelling bikinis for her H&M swimwear range.

They struck up an immediate bond and friends say Kylie and Dahm have been in regular contact since.

His wife Laura, who is only weeks away from giving birth to their second child, said yesterday that her husband told her that it was a "coincidence" that Kylie was in Chile at the same time as him this week.

"Alexander and Kylie have struck up a friendship. But it's ridiculous to think there is some sort of affair going on. There isn't, they're only friends and I'm not worried," she said. Laura said her husband had been phoning her daily but she couldn't get in touch with him. He told her his mobile phone charger didn't work on the different voltage in Chile.

"His mobile has been off for two days." she said.

However, when contacted by the Sunday Mirror - on his mobile - yesterday, Dahm said: "It's my private life - it's none of your business."

He and Kylie are together in the fashionable Pacific Ocean resort of Vina Del Mar after she flew in to Santiago, the Chilean capital, on Wednesday. That night she stayed at a private house in the wealthy neighbourhood of Santa Maria de Manquehue.

On Thursday, she and Dahm - who is the son of a Chilean opera singer but lives in Mexico - travelled to Vina Del Mar, home to some of South America's finest beaches.

During the day, she and Dahm visited the former home of poet Pablo Neruda, a Nobel Prize winner and cult figure in Chile. The house is on the upmarket tourist trail. In the afternoon they went to the Renaca Beach, renowned as the premier hangout for Chile's most beautiful women. The beach is nicknamed "The Cemetery" by locals because row upon row of women with model looks lie flat out on the beach every day.
