Pop star George Michael has ordered an interview in which he discusses his fears of HIV to be removed from a forthcoming documentary.
The singer was quizzed for BBC show Stephen Fry: HIV and Me. In the show comedian Fry examines the spread of the virus and undergoes an HIV test himself.
Michael was originally willing to talk about HIV - which claimed the life of his former partner Anselmo Feleppa in 1995 - but he changed his mind after the talk was taped.
A spokesperson reveals, "On reflection, he felt it was too close and too personal a journey. It was too personal for Anselmo's family to revisit."
In July, the show's producer Ross Wilson revealed that Michael had refused to undergo an HIV test himself, explaining, "George says he does not believe in tests. He says he finds the wait for results too harrowing and that he hasn't had a test since at least 2004 due to his fears it might be positive."
