It's been eight years since Dr. Dre released his sophomore album, 2001, and the rapper/producer is still working on it's follow-up, Detox. Unfortunately, the world is going to have to wait a while longer to hear from the good doctor. Dre insists that he's spending the next few months working on Eminem's forthcoming release.
"I was really hoping to have it [Detox] out this year, but it's going to have to be pushed back a while because of some other things I've got to work on," Dre told The LA Times. He says that Detox is still two or three tracks away from completion.
It also looks like Dre is using Detox as a way to clear rap out of his system completely, claiming that it will be his last album. "I think it's time to move on," he said, admitting that rapping is "a young man's game." Considering some of the music coming out today, the rap game might be better off if more adults like him stuck around.
