Cassidy has a little advice for mogul Jay-Z. The Swizz Beatz protégé thinks the Def Jam prez should push his album back.
"I think right now, the way that I got the hood on smash and the way that my song is poppin' off, I don't think it would be a smart decision for Hov to drop on November 6," told Cassidy.
Cass' new project, The Barry Adrien Reese Story (B.A.R.S.) is slated to hit shelves the same day as Hov's concept album American Gangster.
And though Jay's "unofficial soundtrack" to the flick of the same name has been getting good reviews, Cass said American Gangster is not as anticipated as any of Hov's classics.
"It ain't like when Vol. 1 or Vol. 2 was gonna drop, it's a lot different," Cassidy said.
Cassidy's third solo effort is the follow up to I'm a Hustla, in which he sampled Hov's voice on the title track.
Cassidy compared the projected sales stand-off to that of 50 Cent and Kanye West.
"The same way that Kanye and 50 both benefited from dropping on the same day, I think if I drop with somebody as legendary as Hov, I can't do nothing but benefit from that," Cass said. "I'm happy that Hov, a person that really takes lyricism seriously, is coming back out again."
Hov isn't the only one Cass says isn't fit to come against him. The rapper recently smashed rumors of a battle rap with Joe Budden, saying the only emcee fit to battle him was himself.
Jay-Z is now hip-hop's answer to Elvis. In this week's Billboard charts, Jigga nabbed the No.1 spot for the tenth time with American Gangster, tying him with The King for the most No. 1 albums behind The Beatles.
American Gangster, the hustler's diary inspired by the movie of the same name, sold 425,000 in its first go-around according to Nielsen's SoundScan.

Rappers Fat Joe and Papoose have both offered their recollections of a recent altercation that allegedly took place between them. But the two stories couldn't sound more different.
The alleged fight took place in a hotel where several artists were being held for a concert in town.
Contrary to Papoose's claims, Joe says that Cassidy never invited him to his hotel. Joey said instead that he went looking for Pap when he heard they were staying at the same hotel.
