After allegedly exchanging blows with an acquaintance at New York night club Kiosk, Diddy is no longer expected to be charged with any criminal wrong doing in the case.
Diddy apparently squared up with friend Steve Acevedo, who the music mogul has known for well over a decade, for unknown reasons. Initial reports indicated that the two threw hands as a result of a disagreement over a female, a rumor that Diddy quickly deaded.
The two were said to have resolved their differences previously, but Acevedo told the media that those claims were untrue. Acevedo told the New York Post that though the two did meet up after the incident, they had not yet reached any agreement. When asked whether he and Puffy made up, he drew his finger across his throat and said, "Definitely not."
Diddy won't have to face any charges in the assault case. In a statement from The Bad Boy CEO's lawyer, the case will go no further and his client will not be criminally pursued.
"I've been informed by the Manhattan District Attorney's office that after a thorough investigation, they have made a decision not to authorize any arrests in connection with the incident involving Mr. Combs and Steven Acevedo on October 13," said Diddy's attorney Benjamin Brafman. "I want to commend the D.A.'s office and the New York City Police Department for conducting a thorough and very fair investigation into this incident and not allowing this private disagreement between two acquaintances to turn into a criminal charge."
