Robbie Williams has agreed to publicly apologise to his ex manager, Nigel Martin-Smith, over accusatory lyrics in one of his songs. The track, The 90s, which features on last years Rudebox, suggested that Martin-Smith, who was his manager during the Take That years, was stealing money from the band.
Martin-Smith took out legal action with Williams now having to fork out up to £500,000 in damages, legal costs on top, and make a public apology. Williams re-recorded the vocals on The 90s after the initial lawsuit.
It’s understood Martin-Smith was prepared to waive the damages if Williams agreed to a face to face meeting. The Staffordshire clown prince of pop refused, preferring, it would seem, to pay in excess of half a million squid not to meet with his ex manager.

Robbie Williams poked fun at his former Take That bandmate Mark Owen on stage last night (18.03.10).
Mark, who recently confessed to cheating on his wife Emma Ferguson with 10 women, was the butt of a number of jokes made by Robbie, who was performing in London.
