Madonna has been paid $10 million to advertise Sunsilk hair care products.
The 'Hung Up' singer will front the company's new 'Life Can't Wait' global campaign, which will launch at the American Super Bowl on Sunday (03.02.08), with Shakira and the late Marilyn Monroe.
A 30-second advertisement - which will premiere during the fourth quarter of the American football game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants - will include old footage of Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn interwoven in a pop art style montage.
The phrases "Some girls can't wait", "To make life happen" and "Their hair tells their story" flash up on screen accompanied by Madonna's hit song 'Ray of Light' before the commercial ends with the words "Make you hair happen."
However, while Madonna was paid a huge £10 million for her involvement, Shakira only pocketed $2.5 million. Stan Cook, vice president of US hair care operations at Unilever, who own Sunsilk, said: "We're proud to unveil a powerful global campaign that features three truly inspirational icons.
"They are celebrated not only for their accomplishments, but for living with passion and urgency, as well as having the confidence to take leaps of faith with their lives and their looks. Our hope is to inspire a new generation of women to do the same." Sunsilk previously paid British pop group Girls Aloud £1.25 million to front their UK campaign.

Justin - who collaborated with Madonna on single '4 Minutes’ - admits it took time for the musical pair to see eye to eye during their recording sessions.
The 27-year-old singer said: 'Madonna is definitely specific about what she wants and I can’t knock her for that. I respond to that because I’m that way, too. But I also think that it took us just a second to mesh our style, that’s read more
"I was standing on the stage and I was really excited because I had just won the award," Swift said after Sunday's show at Radio City Music Hall. "And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on the stage. And then I wasn't so excited anymore after that."
