Beyonce will executive produce a new movie about Etta James, taking on the lead role in the movie, it has been confirmed.
The pop superstar will also write four new songs for the soundtrack to "Cadillac Records", which has not yet begun shooting.
The story details Chicago label Chess Records, capturing singers such as James, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and Chuck Berry during the '50s.
Darnell Martin is producing the movie, which will also star Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Columbus Short.
It is currently unclear when the movie will actually hit cinemas.
