Shakira, Chili Peppers lead MTV Video Music Awards 2006 nominees
With seven nods apiece, Shakira and The Red Hot Chili Peppers
lead the field of nominees for the 23rd Annual MTV Video Music Awards.
All of Shakira's nominations came for her "Hips Don't Lie" clip, while the
Chili Peppers' noms came for their "Dani California" video.

Kanye West hit out at Grammy Award organisers when music was played during his acceptance speech for the Best Rap Album prize.
The rapper asked for a backing track to be cut twice, as he took a swipe at beaten nominees Common and Nas and dedicated the award to his mother, who died last November.
