Avril Lavigne wants to become a magazine editor.
The 'Girlfriend' singer is keen to branch out beyond the music industry and try her hand at running a celebrity publication, but insists she will only focus on optimistic stories.
She said: "I would make it completely positive. There's so much negativity in the world right now. I'd pick up the big stories, but they'd have to be positive."
This isn't the first time Avril has expressed an interest in other careers. Last month, the singer unveiled her new clothing line - Abbey Dawn. The range, which includes hooded tops, jeans and T-shirts, will go on sale in the US in July.

Sean "Diddy" Combs presented Janelle Monae, the newest addition to the Bad Boy Records roster, to music industry insiders last night (April 3) at New York's Blender Theater. The singer/songwriter/producer is signed to the label via her own Wondaland Arts Society imprint.

After a 17-year hiatus, George Michael is giving the U.S. touring market one more try. Tickets for his summer outing, which begins June 17 in San Diego, go on sale this weekend.
Michael may also have a hit on his hands in the form of his retrospective album "Twenty Five," released earlier this week via Epic. The set is on course for a top 25 debut on The Billboard 200 chart next week, based on its first day sales on Nielsen SoundScan's Building Chart.
Michael promoted the tour and album today (April 4) on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where he called in and offered up a pair of tickets to his June 25 Los Angeles show to everyone in the audience. DeGeneres' Web site is also giving away a pair of tickets to each tour stop.

Kelly Clarkson has shared with Billboard.com her thoughts on four unfinished songs leaking to the Internet.
The new material from Clarkson, never one to escape controversy, surfaced earlier this week via the Los Angeles-based music blog Pretty Much Amazing. The four songs -- "Close Your Eyes," "Ready," "One Day," and "With a Little Bit of Luck" -- have varying sound quality, indicating that the tracks are in different stages of the recording process.
"I write all the time -- lots of stuff not meant to ever be released, just working on ideas," Clarkson tells Billboard.com of the leaked work. "The fact that people have heard music that's not ready yet sucks, but I hope they like it."

The former drug addict - who was married to 'I Will Always Love You' singer Whitney from 1992 to 2006 - has revealed shocking details of the couple's relationship in his autobiography 'Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But', due out next month.
He writes: "I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice. At one point in my life, I used drugs uncontrollably. I was using everything I could get my hands on, from cocaine to heroin, weed and cooked cocaine."

Janet Jackson will be honoured by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) this month.
The 'Feedback' singer is set to be recognised by the organisation for working to combat prejudice against sexuality in the music industry.
She will be presented with the Vanguard Award by US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres at the organisation's Media Awards in Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre on April 26.

The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, wants Shaniqua Tompkins and their son Marquise Jackson to leave the property in Long Island.
In February, a judge reduced Tompkins' monthly support payments from $25,000 to $6,700 on the condition they would partly use the money in a bid to find a new place to live.
But 50 is now claiming Tompkins - who also lives with a daughter from another relationship - didn't even attempt to look for a new residence, and is taking advantage of the situation as the house is still in his name and he continues to pay all the bills.
