	Madonna is set to adopt David Banda this week. Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie were previously granted a temporary 18-month custody order for the Malawian boy, but this is expected to be turned into a permanent custody order on Thursday (15.05.08). The couple’s adoption has been held up due to a lack of international adoption laws in Malawi – one of Africa’s poorest countries.

	Just days after being arrested for speeding, rapper DMX was charged again on Friday, this time for cruelty to animals in Arizona. DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was found with five pit bull pups in his Scottsdale home. Last year, authorities confiscated 12 pit bulls at the house. Three carcasses where also found buried on the property. One of the dogs had been burned.

The music superstar annoyed organisers and fellow artists on the bill at Radio 1’s Big Weekend free music event, after demanding a helicopter to transport her from her London home to the festival in Maidstone, Kent – just 37 miles away. Band frontman Pete Doherty confirmed the 'Rehab’ singer teamed up with guitarist Mick Whitnall in the studio while he was in London’s Wormwood Scrubs Prison. He told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: 'Mick and Amy have a great relationship. They have been working on material while I was in prison. When I came out I went straight to the recording studio. I just want to get the music going. We’ve been told we will be doing a third album. That will keep me busy and hopefully out of trouble.'
