Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm has revealed she is pregnant.
Mel, 34, is expecting her first baby with partner of six years, Thomas Starr.
She is the last of the five Spice Girls to have a baby.
Mel – also known as Mel C and Sporty Spice - revealed yesterday (21.08.08) she is 'delighted' by the news. The other members of the girl band - Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown – have said they are delighted for their friend.
A source close to the star told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: 'Melanie is over the moon at the prospect of becoming a mother for the first time. The girls are so pleased for her and have said they're only a phone call away to pass on any parenting tips.
"Melanie loved being around their kids on the band's recent tour and is delighted she's now one of the gang."
Rumours Mel was pregnant were sparked when she was spotted in a floaty dress with what looked like a baby bump in Liverpool last Friday (15.08.08). One onlooker described her as looking 'absolutely radiant' at the time.
Mel had previously hinted she was ready to have children in a recent interview while still touring with the Spice Girls, saying: "I love kids and one of the best bits about touring with the Spice Girls this time round was getting to know everyone's babies. I'm sure babies will be part of my future." When Mel has her child it will be the eighth baby born to the Spice Girls.
Geri has a two-year-old daughter, Bluebell, while Victoria has three sons, Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, five, and Cruz, three. Mel B has two girls, Phoenix Chi, nine, and Angel Iris, 16 months, while Emma has a son, Beau Lee.
Mel B prematurely celebrated the end of the Spice Girls tour by partying with James Blunt.
Scary Spice and her husband Stephen Belafonte spent the night drinking champagne with the 'You're Beautiful' singer on Monday (25.02.08), ahead of the band's final concert in Toronto, Canada, last night (26.02.08).
A witness at Toronto's C Lounge Club said: "They were all having a fantastic evening. Drinks were flowing and Mel even treated James and Stephen to some singing." read more
Emma Bunton is on crutches after falling on stage in Las Vegas. The blonde singer was performing with her fellow Spice Girls at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on Tuesday night when she tripped and sprained her ankle.
She said: "I took a tumble on stage and unfortunately I have sprained my ankle, so I'm hobbling around on crutches!"
But the new mother reassured fans she will be fine for the girls' upcoming London performances this weekend (15.12.07), adding: "I read more
Geri Halliwell and George Michael have reportedly fallen out over his failure to write the Spice Girls' comeback single.
The 'Faith' singer had agreed to pen a track for the reunited girl band, which would have been released in time to battle for the Christmas number one spot.
However, Geri - who is a long-time pal of George - was said to have grown frustrated with how long he was taking and instead teamed up fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton to write 'Headlines (Friendship N read more
