Jon Bon Jovi records song for Iran |
Music News |

 |
JON BON JOVI has recorded a song in Farsi in an attempt to promote peace and unity in Iran.
The rock star teamed up with exiled Iranian singer Andy Madadian and Was (Not Was) star Don Was to record a version of Ben E. King's Stand By Me in the country's first language.
A statement said the song is "a musical message of worldwide solidarity" to the Iranian people, in the wake of violence following the country's controversial recent election.
Was, who produced the track, told Billboard.com that the song was recorded in Los Angeles on 24 June after he and Madadian saw Bon Jovi and bandmate Richie Sambora eating lunch outside the studio they were working in. |

Merriweather in awe of Jay-Z |
Music News |
 |
 |
Daniel Merriweather was in shock when he met Jay-Z.
The 'Change' singer is now a friend of the '99 Problems' rapper but admits he was lost for words when the pair were first introduced.
He said: "When I first met him, he almost seemed mythical - like, 'Oh my God, it's Jay-Z!' That's because he symbolises that whole era of hip-hop.
And he's still great - there's always an extra level of awareness in whatever he does.
"I do see him quite a lot socially because he's a friend of a friend, but I'm a genuine fan. He's great to hang out with, he's very controlled, you can tell there are always cogs turning in his mind, and he never has his guard down completely." |
