CONSTRUCTION workers who erected the stage for Madonna's world tour have been fined over safety issues.
Stagehands in Romania were fined by building inspectors on Tuesday, the day before the Material Girl played to 70,000 fans in the capital Bucharest as part of her Sticky & Sweet tour.
A construction company working on the stage set-up was slapped with a $2,560 (£1,600) after inspectors discovered staff hadn't been instructed to take proper security measures.
Concert organisers were fined more than $2,000 (£1,300) over the safety issue.
Last month (Jul09) two stagehands died while they were building the singer's stage for her concert in Marseille, France when a crane collapsed on top of them.
