100 of Europe’s most dedicated music fans beat over 7,000 applicants, from 15 different European countries, to participate in Sony Ericsson’s FanWalk 2009 – a 10 day challenge from Hamburg to Berlin that ends at the ultimate music event, the MTV EMAs 2009.
En route from Hamburg to Berlin, from 27 October, FanWalkers will be set challenges to show their skills and prove that they are the ultimate music fan. One FanWalker will even win an exciting dream prize – presenting an MTV EMA award live on stage in front of millions of fans around the world on 5 November.
Sony Ericsson’s FanWalk received an overwhelming response from music fans all across Europe. Hopeful music-lovers entered their creative talents, via blogs and email at www.fanwalk.tv, trying to win as many votes as possible from friends, family, other FanWalk hopefuls and the Sony Ericsson jury.
The winners range from 18 to 30 and each of them is preparing for the long but exciting journey ahead with 99 new friends who are all as passionate about music as they are.
FanWalkers will be posting daily updates on their progress on www.fanwalk.tv, uploading interviews, photos, videos and travel reports from every step of their journey. They will also be given a Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman™ mobile phone, which will enable them send daily blogs and updates to Facebook™, Twitter, hi5 and Bebo as they walk.
