MTV Turns 25 |
Music News |
 |
 |
No one knows how to throw a party like MTV. So there must be quite a bash planned for Aug. 1, celebrating 25 years on the air. Right?
Sorry. MTV is staying in that night. There are no plans to even mention the birthday.
When your average viewer is 20 years old â too young to remember Martha Quinn, not even born when Madonna buckled on her "boy toy" belt â perhaps it's wise not to mention you're 25. MTV wants to be the perpetual adolescent.
On a relentless mission to stay hip, MTV casually discards generations. Yesterday, "Beavis and Butt-head." Today, "Laguna Beach."
And at each stop, MTV changes pop culture.... |

Justin Timberlake insists on Mrs Becks interviewing
him
IS Victoria Beckham set to become the new
Parky?
I only ask because Justin Timberlake - the
biggest pop star on the planet - has insisted there's only one person who's up
to the job of interviewing him...
And no, its not Michael Parkinson - the UK's
most successful celeb interviewer.
Step forward instead, Becks' missus, Victoria,
32. My mole tells me: "Justin was adamant Vic was the only person fit for the
job... |

Christina Aguilera Not Interested In Working With The Neptunes |
Music News |
 |
 |
Christina Aguilera spoke with the New York
Times about her decision to have DJ Premier produce tracks on her new album
'Back To Basics', while taking a shot at Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo in the
process. "I have no interest in working with the Neptunes," Aguilera said. "A
lot of what's on the radio sounds the same because everyone is using the same
producers. Music is suffering because nobody wants to step out on a limb and go
for something different. Everyone wants to stay in their safety box," which
Aguilera said she has absolutely no interest in doing, even if it means
upsetting her label....

Janet Jacksonâs beau brands Britney Spears and Aguilera as âcopycatsâ |
Music News |
 |
 |
Branding Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera as
copycats, Janet Jacksonâs rap mogul beau Jermaine Dupri has praised his
sweetheartâs originality in her work.
Dupri, who according to speculation is planning to tie the knot with Jackson
on September 26th this year, said that the forthcoming album will set the
standard for her rivals in the business, and be a trendsetter.
"Only Janet records sound like her. I always look and think, where's Beyonce
going to be in 20 years?' It's hard for me to visualise. I don't put them on the
same planeâ, Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.
"Artists just need to make good music. I said to Janet, 'All you got to do is
sing.' Britney and Christina Aguilera are all copycats of one personâ.... |
