Latin TV stars will head to the Big Apple in October when New York hosts the
second annual Latin Emmy awards to honor the best of Spanish-language U.S.
television, organizers said on Monday.
"New York is the home to the world's biggest media companies, the nation's
second-largest Spanish language television market and the most diverse Latin
population of any city in the world," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, announcing
the October 19 awards ceremony.
Spanish-language television draws close to 40 million viewers in the United
States, according to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.....
Christina Aguilera says she's toned down the sexuality on her new double-disc album, "Back to Basics", but has no regrets about the sultry image she's projected in the past.
"The sexuality coming forward on this record is more softened," she says in the

MC Hammer's back catalog has been sold for almost $3 million, according to
reports. The collection of music, which amounts to approximately 40,000 songs,
including global hits "U Can't Touch This" and "Pray," has been bought by the
music company Evergreen.
Evergreen described the collection, which they bought for $2.7 million, as
"some of the best-selling and most popular rap songs of all time."...

think this is going to be a big event for television."
The network is billing Madonna's special as the first-ever broadcast network
