The singer – who is divorcing estranged husband Deryck Whibley – has been seen out several times with American actor Wilmer Valderrama and the pair have apparently been getting very close.
Over the weekend, Avril, 25, and 29-year-old Wilmer were spotted at Los Angeles club Wonderland getting cosy.
An onlooker is quoted by US gossip blogger Perez Hilton as saying: 'She had her hand on his knee and they were whispering in each other's ear, laughing. They even closed the club, sneaking out just after 2am.' |

 Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from estranged husband Deryck Whibley.
The 'Girlfriend’ singer took action to officially end her three-year marriage to the Sum 41 star at a Los Angeles court last Friday (09.10.09), citing 'irreconcilable differences'.
She is asking for a ruling to block Deryck from receiving spousal support.
Avril split from Deryck in September but insisted their break-up was amicable. |

The troubled singer - who has publicly battled addictions to drink and drugs - and her father Mitch are keen to develop her trademark smokey look and put her name to a woman's fragrance.
A source said: "Mitch is keen to licence Amy s name to a perfume house. He has been in talks with manufacturers and contacted PR firms for advice.
"They want it to reflect her style with a classic smokey 1950s look and smell. Amy is keen to expand her brand and wants to get on the celebrity perfumes bandwagon while she can. They know her fans love to copy her style. Her trademark fashion and beehive hair-do were last year's must-have look." |

 Avril Lavigne wants to become a magazine editor.
The 'Girlfriend' singer is keen to branch out beyond the music industry and try her hand at running a celebrity publication, but insists she will only focus on optimistic stories.
She said: "I would make it completely positive. There's so much negativity in the world right now. I'd pick up the big stories, but they'd have to be positive."
This isn't the first time Avril has expressed an interest in other careers. Last month, the singer unveiled her new clothing line - Abbey Dawn. The range, which includes hooded tops, jeans and T-shirts, will go on sale in the US in July. |

The Catholic ceremony began at 5pm and lasted only 20 minutes. An orchestra played “The Wedding March” as Lavigne walked down the aisle on the arm of her father John.

The hip hop superstar took home top honors at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' Pop Music Awards Monday night, where he was named Songwriter of the Year by a group of industry peers.
The awards, voted on by more than 700 songwriters, recording artists and industry leaders, were doled out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and in addition to
Eminem's protege, also gave kudos to
Green Day,
Annie Lennox and
Kelly Clarkson.
"I want to tell you that I use you for energy," 50 Cent said while accepting his award via a video message. "I listen to the material that you create...it helps me move to the next level...it inspires me to write even more exciting material."
It was the rapper's second time receiving the ceremony's top honor. He was so awarded for his contributions to five radio-friendly songs, "Candy Shop," "Disco Inferno," "Hate It Or Love It," "How We Do" and "Just A Lil Bit." |
