 Britney Spears debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her new single "3," making her the first artist to do so in over three years, Billboard magazine reports. The critically acclaimed single will also debut at #1 on the Billboard Digital charts.
Rolling Stone Magazine called "3" an "instant Britney classic," and gave the hit a four-star review, building further anticipation for the release of her album The Singles Collection on Nov. 24. The song, recorded with hit maker Max Martin, trumped a title previously held by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks since 2006. Britney is the first artist outside of the American Idol camp to claim the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 since Lauren Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing") in 1998, according to Billboard magazine. |

 Britney Spears has bought two parakeets.
The 'Womanizer’ singer – who finished the North American leg of her tour last weekend – bought the yellow birds during a shopping trip in California this week.
A source said: 'Britney had just picked up some dog food when she spotted the parakeets and decided to buy a pair. She settled on yellow parakeets and bought a big, white cage and several toys for the birds.'
Britney purchased the winged creatures at the California Pet Center in Calabasas, and impressed staff by questioning how to care for them properly.

To launch the special package, a brand new single entitled '3,' which Britney recently recorded with hitmaker Max Martin, will be released on November 16th.
There will be two configurations of The Singles Collection; an ultimate fan box set and a standard version.

The 'Womanizer' singer - who is nominated in three categories - will appear on stage at the annual event on Sunday night (09.08.09) at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre, in California.

Miranda Tozier-Robbins, 26, was found peering through the windows of the 'Womanizer’ singer’s home in Calabasas, California, dressed in camouflage fatigues and carrying a video camera and backpack yesterday morning (16.04.09).
When security guards discovered Tozier-Robbins they politely asked her to leave, but she reportedly 'balked at their requests' and had to be physically removed from the property. She was taken to a police station and booked on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct. |

The pop superstar's former manager Sam Lutfi has told Los Angeles Superior Court the star is suffering "emotional distress" under her father's strict conservatorship.
Britney's father Jamie was given control of the singer's personal and financial affairs last year and quickly took out a restraining order against Lutfi.
In the current court hearing, Jamie is seeking to extend the order because he claims Lutfi is still harassing his daughter and conspiring to disrupt his legal control over her.
Lutfi's younger sister Christina also gave evidence in court yesterday (01.04.09), claiming Britney asked her to buy a cell phone and sneak it into the Beverly Hills Hotel where she was staying. |

Under the terms of the order - which Jamie had applied to be made permanent in January - paparazzo Adnan, 36, cannot go within 100 yards of his former lover or her family and is banned from trying to communicate with the 27-year-old star.
He is also forbidden to claim that he represents her interests. |
