 A survey conducted by PRS for Music, the organisation that represents songwriters, composers and music publishers, has revealed the UK’s vote for party conference songs.
Last year the Gordon Brown walked on stage with Jackie Wilson’s Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher. However, in the survey of over 1,000 people, Elton John’s Sorry seems to be the hardest word was voted as most popular suggestion for the entrance of the Prime Minister this year.

Elton John wants to adopt Ukrainian toddler |

 But it's not clear if John, 62, will be able to adopt, and the Rocket Man star has not yet started formal proceedings, which are often long and complicated.
John and longtime partner David Furnish are interested in trying to adopt a Ukrainian toddler named Lev they met during an orphanage tour there.
The singer told reporters in Ukraine on Saturday that Furnish has long wanted to adopt a child but that he was reluctant until he met Lev at an orphanage where many of the children's parents have died from AIDS.Look out, Madonna and Angelina Jolie — pop star Elton John has decided he wants to join the ranks of A-list celebrities with adopted children. |

 SIR ELTON JOHN was discovered using an autocue at a private party.
According to Sky News, the singer was performing at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco for a rumoured £1million fee when the teleprompter was noticed in a flower arrangement.

 SIR ELTON JOHN has signed up actor James Nesbitt to star in Just Jack's new video.
The legendary singer, who has previously cast Justin Timberlake and Robert Downey Jr. in his music videos, called on the Murphy's Law actor to film a cameo in the promo clip for The Day I Died.
Just Jack - real name Jack Allsopp - said: "I asked Elton if he knew anyone who'd be good for the role. After hearing the album, he said he had just the man." |

Councillors in the London borough of Harrow are considering honouring their most famous former resident following a Local Government Network report which encourages the celebration of local heroes.
Deputy leader of Harrow Council Councillor Susan Hall said: "We are supportive of any initiative that supports pride in our streets and strengthens a sense of community. |

Iconic musicians including Phil Collins, Sting and members from Iron Maiden and Red Hot Chili Peppers fame have donated a signed drum kit to an exclusive auction raising money for the charity, Teenage Cancer Trust, which helps teenagers and young people fight cancer.  Pink wants to "rock" on Sir Elton John's piano and perform with Billy Joel.
The singer has revealed her musical to-do list, which also includes teaming up with former Fugees star Lauren Hill.
She said: "I'd love to rock on Elton John's piano and play with Billy Joel. I'd love to duet with Lauren Hill too."
The star - whose new single 'So What' has topped the charts in both the UK and US - also revealed plans to try to crack small eastern European country Lithuania.

Lily Allen friends kidnap nightmare |

 Lily Allen has revealed her friend was kidnapped and kept in a car boot for six days.
The singer was left 'terrified' by the ordeal and thanked London’s Metropolitan Police for foiling the plot as she co-hosted the GQ Men of the Year awards last night (02.09.08).
Lily, who shared presenting duties with Sir Elton John, said: 'My friend Charlie was kidnapped a few weeks ago and was kept in a car boot for six days without any food or anything. It was really scary.
Thank you to the Met for getting my friend back, we were all terrified. From what I hear, the police did a fantastic job.'

Some of the 250 staff on the tour claim they are being treated like 'second class citizens' after being given cheap hotel accommodation - while Madonna stayed in an £11,000-a-night castle after her recent show in Nice, France.
A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: 'Everyone is absolutely furious with her and some of them want to walk out of the tour. They feel they are being treated like second-class citizens, despite all their hard work over the last few months.
'To make matters worse, they are being forced to stay in horrible places and fly on cheap low-cost flights, while she has the lap of luxury. Several are already talking about walking if things don't improve.' |

 Sir Elton John is taking his 'right-hand man' to court.
The 'Rocket Man' singer has issued a writ against his business partner Bob Halley - who has worked with him for over 30 years - although the details of his case are not known.
Bob, 61, began working for the 60-year-old star as his driver in 1974. Over the years, he had various positions including that of Elton's personal assistant.
The pair developed a close friendship and Bob joined Elton on tour in the 80s. One fan site wrote: "Bob has seen Elton at his best and at his worst, and has tayed by his side when times were tough and when times were fantastic. |

 Elton John has defended himself against accusations of child pornography relating to a photograph he donated to an art exhibition, insisting the image has already been featured in galleries across the globe.
The photo, taken by famed photographer Nan Goldin, features two young girls posing provocatively-and is one of 4,000 pictures used in the Elton John Photographic Collection at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, England.

 Princes William and Harry were on hand at London's Wembley Stadium on Sunday for a star-studded pop concert in memory of their mother, Princess Diana, on what would have been her 46th birthday. The brothers greeted singer Nelly Furtado and 1980s chart-toppers Duran Duran, two of the acts taking the stage to remember Diana almost 10 years after her death in a Paris car crash.The princess died Aug. 31, 1997, along with her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and their driver when their Mercedes crashed inside the Pont d'Alma tunnel, while media photographers pursued them.

 It's official! Pam Anderson & Kid Rock were married this past Saturday, on a
yacht in Saint-Tropez. Pam already took time to post a note on her website,
calling it "The best most romantic wedding of all time." Of course it was; after
all, she was wearing a white string bikini during the ceremony. According to
Elton John's partner David Furnish, the wedding was very rock'n'roll. Anderson
