The Spice Girls are to play a one-off concert in South Africa.
The group sparked rumours of a reunion last week when four former members – Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton - had dinner together in London and it has now emerged they were discussing plans for a special show to launch the soccer World Cup next year.
Mel B and her husband Stephen Belafonte have brokered the deal and are keen to press ahead with the plan – even though Victoria Beckham doesn’t want to take part.
A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: "Mel is determined to get the girls back together for the World Cup and wants them to plough ahead as a foursome if Victoria doesn't want to take part. |

Victoria, 34, and her soccer star husband David Beckham were invited but won’t be attending, and it is not known if any of the other Spice Girls –
Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C – will be going on the lavish, all-expenses paid trip either.
Mel had also invited Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, British TV presenter Fearne Cotton and former S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens to the ceremony, but none are able to attend. |

The former Spice Girl - who has also penned a series of children's books about fictional character Ugenia Lavender - claims she was inspired by British TV presenter Jonathan Ross' wife Jane Goldman, who adapted Neil Gaiman's novel 'Stardust' for the big screen.
Geri said: "Jonathan Ross' wife wrote 'Stardust' and I thought, 'Oh wow, I'd like to do that.' "
The 36-year-old mother-of-one says the creative process of writing for film was really enjoyable. |

Scary Spice and her husband Stephen Belafonte spent the night drinking champagne with the 'You're Beautiful' singer on Monday (25.02.08), ahead of the band's final concert in Toronto, Canada, last night (26.02.08).
A witness at Toronto's C Lounge Club said: "They were all having a fantastic evening. Drinks were flowing and Mel even treated James and Stephen to some singing."
Despite Mel partying the night away, she had recovered in time for the group's final show at the Air Canada Centre.

She said: "I'm really looking forward to the show on the 12th because it's my birthday and I've never performed on my birthday before. I can't think of a better way to spend the evening!"
