 Fifty years since the term 'music video’ was first coined and on the anniversary of its release, Michael Jackson’s Thriller has been voted the most influential music video of all time.
Music fans voted for Jackson’s video - directed by Hollywood filmmaker John Landis and released 27 years ago this week - in an online poll conducted by music video site www.muzu.tv. Michael also made the list with his sister Janet for the video for 'Scream’, which at a cost of $7million also takes the title of the most expensive video ever made.
The list is dominated by classic videos from the 80s and 90s. Peter Gabriel’s iconic Sledgehammer video (number five), released in 1987, was one of the first pieces of work by Wallace & Gromit creators Aardman Studios and won a record nine MTV Video Music Awards. |

The late 'Thriller’ singer’s brother Jermaine Jackson paid tribute to the star when accepting the prizes for Favourite Soul/ R’n’B Artist, Favourite Pop/Rock Male Vocalist, Favourite Pop/Rock Album and Favourite Soul/R’n’B Album for his 'Number Ones’ greatest hits compilation, praising his life philosophy.
Wearing a single white glove in tribute to Michael, Jermaine said: 'It's not just about the winnings, the awards. It's mainly the message. The message Michael had will live on forever. He saw good in everyone. Start with love and let's love each other." |

Usher reveals new album details |

 USHER has announced that his new album will be called Monster.
The R&B star has been recording his sixth studio album, the follow-up to 2008's Here I Stand in Las Vegas and Atlanta with Janet Jackson's partner Jermain Dupri.
It is due for release this autumn on Jive Records.
The singer also confirmed, via his Twitter blog, that he has filmed a cameo alongside Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl in the upcoming Robert Luketic-helmed thriller Five Killers.
He wrote: "Here on the set of Five Killers. I'm headed in now for my first scene with Ashton and Katherine."
