 Marilyn Manson's insurance coverage will pay $175,000 to settle a lawsuit brought against him by a former member of his band, but all of the money will go to the plaintiff's attorney, a lawyer for the goth rocker said today. Stephen Bier, better known by the stage names Pogo and Madonna Wayne Gacy, brought his breach-of contract case in Los Angeles Superior Court in August 2007 against Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner.
Bier, who was seeking more than $20 million, alleged Manson used money from their former band partnership to buy items ranging from Nazi paraphernalia to a $150,000 engagement ring for ex-wife Dita Von Teese, depriving him of his partnership share. |

 The rapper was held by Border Police in the US as he made his way to a scheduled concert in Laredo, Texas, after they found marijuana on his tour buses.
He and 11 other people travelling with him, were briefly questioned before being released, but the case has now been referred to the Brooks County Sheriff's Office.LIL WAYNE was forced to cancel a gig after he was held by police over possession of cannabis. |

 A NEW song from Lil' Wayne's upcoming album has leaked on to the internet.
The previously unheard track from the Rebirth LP, entitled Da Da Da, emerged on various file-sharing websites this weekend.
The song opens with a guitar riff which demonstrates Rebirth's rock-influenced direction.
The album is due to be released on December 21 – eight months after it was originally scheduled to hit the shops. |

 Lil Wayne, the biggest selling rapper of last year will spend most of next year in jail after pleading guilty to gun possession charges.
Lil Wayne appeared in a Manhattan Court yesterday on the charges dating back to July 2007. Police had pulled over his tour bus and caught the rapper in possession of a weapon.
In a statement released today, Cash Money owners Ronald 'Slim’ Williams and Bryan 'Baby’ Williams had this to say. |

The R&B star said the rapper was one of many of today's musicians who he described as "the champions" and all show similar characteristics to icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson and Pink Floyd's Roger Waters.

Admirers of the 'Crazy in Love' singer came out second from bottom in a 'Music That Makes You Dumb' study in the US, which compared students SAT results - a standardised test taken by all American students hoping to go to college - with their favourite music.
US rapper Lil' Wayne was the only artist whose fans scored a lower average in their SAT tests according to the poll, while classical fans scored higher than anyone else.
Fans of indie music were credited with above average intelligence with fans of bands like Radiohead, Counting Crows and U2 scoring highly in their SATs. |

Toronto MC Drake, who collaborates on a track, said that Wayne was inspired to experiment more after guesting on Kanye West's new album 808s and Heartbreak.

 RAPPER Lil Wayne and rock band Coldplay lead 2009's Grammy contenders with 15 nominations between them.
Lil Wayne, whose album Tha Carter III was the biggest selling album in the US this year, won eight nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Rap Solo Performance.
Coldplay landed seven nominations including Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Group.
Many other British acts have been recognised and dominate the Record of the Year category with Adele, Leona Lewis, M.I.A, Coldplay and Robert Plant all contenders. |

 Mega rap star Lil' Wayne was in Arizona's Superior Court yesterday (November 6) for a hearing pertaining to felony drug and weapon charges stemming from last year
According to the Yuma Sun, Weezy was in attendance for a status hearing that scheduled a date allowing prosecutors to give their arguments before a judge.
"This is a pretty standard hearing," Prosecutor Deann Sandry said in a statement.
The rapper's attorney, James Tilson, is requesting the case be sent back to a grand jury in order to have a new finding in the case. Tilson alleges the grand jury threw in additional charges the county attorney's office were unaware of. |

 Alicia Keys has been nominated for five accolades at the American Music Awards.
The 'No One’ singer will battle Coldplay, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and the Eagles for the prestigious Artist of the Year award at the ceremony to be held in Los Angeles on November 23.
Alicia has also been nominated in the Female Artist and Album categories in the Pop/Rock section and Female Artist and Album in the Soul/Rhythm and Blues section.

 50 Cent has overtaken Jay-Z to be named the Hip-Hop Cash King of 2008.
The 'Candy Shop' singer topped the new list, compiled by Forbes.com, after making a staggering $150 million in the last 12 months. The musician's impressive earnings - mainly down to Coca-Cola buying out his stake in VitaminWater - ensured he shot straight to the top of the rankings, beating former King Jay-Z, who made $82 million.
50, real name Curtis James Jackson III, also owns G-Unit Clothing Company and has teamed up with Right Guard to launch a body spray and a line of condoms.
He has also starred in a number of movies, including ' Get Rich or Die Tryin'' and 'Home of the Brave'. Runner-up Jay-Z made his fortune by releasing a platinum-selling album and signing a 10-year deal with concert promoter Live Nation worth a reported $150 million. |

 Lil’ Wayne and Yung Berg were both due in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning to face gun charges.
Yung Berg was arrested in New York City on the morning of Saturday August 9th. The rapper (born Christian Ward) was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of marijuana and menacing after a limo driver filed a complaint with the NYPD.
This morning, a judge tossed out the two weapons charges against the 22 year-old rapper since it was proven that the guns found on the scene actually belonged to his security. |

 Kanye West has joined the roster of contributors to Lil Wayne's long-in-the-works album "Tha Carter III," tentatively due in May via Cash Money/Universal.
The rapper broke the news this week during an interview with BBC Radio DJ Semtex, saying West appears on three tracks and that Swizz Beatz, Jim Jonson and Deezle also appear.

 Rappers Fat Joe and Papoose have both offered their recollections of a recent altercation that allegedly took place between them. But the two stories couldn't sound more different.
The alleged fight took place in a hotel where several artists were being held for a concert in town.
Contrary to Papoose's claims, Joe says that Cassidy never invited him to his hotel. Joey said instead that he went looking for Pap when he heard they were staying at the same hotel.
"I went and I knocked on every door. 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106 ...," Joey told San Francisco radio show KMEL.
