 Rihanna 'found peace' recording new album |

 The singer recorded 'Rated R’ a few months after being assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in February and has revealed the recording studio became a haven for her as she tried to get over the violent attack.
She said: "I hid out for a while, but that just drove me crazy. I got cabin fever. I was ready to make music again. It was a hard time, but I found peace in the studio."
The 'Russian Roulette’ singer deliberately chose to collaborate with people she had worked with before, including Justin Timberlake and Ne-Yo, to help her get over the ordeal.
She explained to the USA Today newspaper: "I wanted something grimy. It was important to have familiar people in the studio, for there to be a comfort level, because of what I wanted to say."
Despite the demise of her relationship with 'Run It’ star Chris, Rihanna insists her ex isn’t the inspiration for every song on the LP. |

 Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga have been nominated for nine MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
Both pop stars are up for the prestigious Video of the Year and Best Female Video accolades, Beyonce for Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and Lady Gaga for Poker Face.
Beyonce, 27, said: "I'm excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs. I've been blessed this year to have Single Ladies become a video people really connected with and responded to.
"I've spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It's beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video." |

 NE-YO has said he won't turn his back on Chris Brown.
The R&B star is good friends with Brown, who was found guilty of beating up ex-girlfriend Rihanna after a Grammys party in February.
And although Ne-Yo, 29, has been working with the Umbrella singer on her next album, he won't be addressing the issue on any songs he writes. |

 NE-YO has reportedly said sorry to his fans after he recently had a breakdown on stage.
The singer was forced to leave during the middle of his concert at Manchester's MEN Arena last Thursday because he wasn't well, and burst into tears.
He had complained early on in the performance that he wasn't well and then left the stage for ten minutes before returning in tears.
He told fans: "Trust me when I say, I'll be back. I will be back." |

 JANET JACKSON has paid a tearful tribute to her Michael who died on Thursday aged 50.
The crowd at the annual Black Entertainment Television Awards fell silent as Jackson strode onstage.
She fought back tears as she said, "My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful, so they elected me to be here to speak with you.
"To you Michael was an icon. To us, Michael is family and he will forever live in all of our hearts.
"On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, and for all your support. We miss him so much." |

The R'n'B singer - who is currently touring with the Pussycat Dolls - has been writing songs for the 'Thriller' singer's new LP, and admits he is incredibly excited about Michael's material.
He said: "I've been submitting songs and he's been picking the ones he likes. But I've no idea when the album will come out. That's a question for Michael.
"This is such a huge record for him so he can be as picky as he likes. It's either going to be the greatest comeback ever or a really sad attempt at recapturing old glories. And we don't want it to be the latter." |

 P. Diddy reportedly threw a "hissy fit" because he didn't like his all-white themed birthday party.
The rapper - who turned 39 last Tuesday (04.11.08) - splashed out on a lavish bash at New York's Mansion nightclub later in the week but insisted the decor was scrapped at the last minute after the all-white room - designed in just 12 hours - failed to meet his expectations.
A source revealed to the New York Post newspaper: "The designer was given a budget of $7,000 and 12 hours to create an all-white decor, including 1,000 white roses, blow-ups of Diddy and US President-elect Barack Obama, and $2,000 of white fabric. |

 TMZ has learned that R&B singer Ne-Yo, aka Shaffer Smith, was arrewsted on Feb. 19 while driving through Cobb County, Georgia.
Cops pulled Ne-Yo after they observed him driving well over 100 mph in his 2006 Range Rover.
He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license. |

 Kanye West, with his 8 Grammy nominations, has been picked by readers to edge out "Big Brother" Jay-Z and others at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.
Readers weighed in with their picks for key Grammy categories. When asked who had the year's best album, 79 percent said Kanye West. Amy Winehouse, whose recent time in rehab raised questions about her Grammy appearance, was the second choice with 16 percent of the vote.

 After it was reported that Jay-Z's Sin City 40/40 club failed to pass inspections, the hot spot opened last night (Dec. 30).
The franchise, located inside the swanky Palazzo hotel on the Las Vegas strip, opened its doors to a crowded house, including such stars as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo, as well as such unlikely guests as Al Sharpton and Joe Jackson. Hova himself was also in the building.
