The 'She Wolf’ singer admits she has not always been in such good shape but has always been too preoccupied with her music to care about her looks.
She said: 'As a teenager I was plump but my appearance wasn’t so important at that time. I focused much more on my music and song writing.
'I know that image in this profession is a matter of opinion. I think the external appearance in show business is important and over the years I’ve discovered my assets. Honestly, I've never seen myself as a goddess or sex symbol.' |

Shakira - who is famous for her shapely rear - explained: "I'm not a trained dancer. I did a little bit of gymnastics when I was 12 - everything else it's just me feeling the music. But I do have an unorthodox ways to approve my music or test it.

 SHAKIRA has said she hopes her new album will lift the gloom of the global economic downturn.
The singer said her album, due for release this autumn, has a "club" feel intended to help lift peoples' spirits.
Speaking to MTV, she said: "It's a very electronic album. Dance-oriented. Club-oriented. I want people to have fun with it. Forget about the troubles. Forget about the crisis. Forget everything for a minute - at least while they listen to the music. |

 SHAKIRA has admitted that she used to rely on a dictionary to write songs.
The Columbian singer's first language is Spanish but because she performs many of her sings in English, she struggled to get her lyrics to make sense.
She said: "Writing songs used to be so difficult for me. A few years ago I could barely speak English and I used to write my songs with a dictionary. It was a real labour of love and I would sit there for hours just looking up words. But now thankfully it comes to me more naturally and spontaneously." |

The 32-year-old singer said she realised that she wanted try the music genre after teaming up with N.E.R.D's Pharrell Williams for her latest LP, which is due out on September 21.

A 30-second advertisement - which will premiere during the fourth quarter of the American football game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants - will include old footage of Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn interwoven in a pop art style montage.

Moore, who is 80-years-old has admitted to having a soft spot for the 29-year-old Shakira, who he had got to know through their work as goodwill ambassadors for Unicef.
The 007 actor revealed that he is an ardent fan of Shakira's hip-swivelling work, which includes the hits Underneath Your Clothes and Hips Don't Lie.
