 Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Eminem and Bono are among stars who have recorded vocals for charity single 'We Are the World’.
The song, originally a hit in 1985 for an all-star line-up led by its writers Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, was re-recorded by some of the world’s biggest stars including Jay-Z, Barbara Streisand, Pink, Celine Dion and Jennifer Hudson to raise money for earthquake-stricken Haiti.
Natalie Cole, Justin Bieber, Usher, Wyclef Jean, Josh Groban and the Jonas Brothers were also included in the line-up, which totalled over 75 artists at final count.
Producer Quincy Jones, who was also behind the 1985 version of the song, said: 'It’s the 25th anniversary and it’s perfect timing. It’s not an accident, man. That’s God. |

Rihanna sleepless over Haiti |

 Rihanna has been having sleepless nights thinking about the Haitian orphans.
The pop star – who is from the Caribbean island of Barbados – has been left extremely distressed by the earthquakes which have hit Haiti leaving tens of thousands of people dead or injured.
Appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s TV talk show, Rihanna said: 'Often in a tragedy like this, it’s the children who suffer the most. They have no way to get food, they’re helpless. The children are the future.' |

Jay-Z and U2 record a duet for Haiti |

 Jay-Z and U2 have recorded a duet to raise money for charity.
The ’99 Problems’ rapper and the legendary Irish rockers have joined together to collaborate on a single with the help of producer Swizz Beatz to generate funds for victims of the devastating earthquakes in Haiti.
U2 rocker The Edge – who is joined by Bono, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. in the band – revealed on Irish radio station 2FM: 'Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So Bono came up with a phrase on the phone and last night we were here, we wrote a song, finished, recorded, and sent it back to them.
"So, that might be the next thing you hear from us." |

Shakira to lift world recession gloom |

 SHAKIRA has said she hopes her new album will lift the gloom of the global economic downturn.
The singer said her album, due for release this autumn, has a "club" feel intended to help lift peoples' spirits.
Speaking to MTV, she said: "It's a very electronic album. Dance-oriented. Club-oriented. I want people to have fun with it. Forget about the troubles. Forget about the crisis. Forget everything for a minute - at least while they listen to the music. |

50 Cent named in steroid trafficking probe |

 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland and Wyclef Jean have all been named in an investigation into illegal steroid trafficking.
Though none of the artists are involved in the criminal probe, they have all allegedly been supplied with performance enhancing drugs in an attempt to stay young looking.
An Albany-based investigation claims Florida doctor Gary Bandwein allegedly shipped steroids and human growth hormone (HGH) to Long Island chiropractor Michael Diamond. |

 Alicia Keys and Tyra Banks were winners at the inaugural BET (Black Entertainment Network) Honors awards on Saturday (12.01.08).
'Fallin'' singer Alicia was given the Entertainment Award, at the glitzy ceremony held at Washington's Warner Theatre, but said she still can't believe she gets paid to do what she loves.

 T.I. paid a visit to a West Philadelphia High School yesterday (June 11) to advise students to stay in school and avoid emulating the lifestyle that rappers portray in their music videos.
According to Philadelphia's 6 Action News, T.I., who grew up in a rough part of Atlanta, dropped out of high school and did jail time, gave his words of wisdom at Harambee Charter School. |

Here are the winners for the 2007 Billboard Latin Music Awards, handed out April 26 at the BankUnited Center in Miami.
Gnarls Barkley and James Blunt each took home two Moonmen at the 2006 VMA's. Gnarls' "Crazy" won technical awards for Best Direction In A Video and Best Editing In A Video. Blunt's "You're Beautiful" claimed the Best Male Video and Best Cinematography In A Video awards. 
With seven nods apiece, Shakira and The Red Hot Chili Peppers
lead the field of nominees for the 23rd Annual MTV Video Music Awards.
