 BEYONCE has won three awards at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.
The singer fought off X Factor winner Leona Lewis to land the Best Female gong at last night's ceremony in Berlin, Germany.
She also won Best Song for Halo and Best Video for Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) which she dedicated to rapper husband Jay-Z, for "putting a ring on it".
Jay-Z was also in the city to perform with U2 at a free open-air concert at the Brandenburg Gate to coincide with the event, which was held in the city to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. |

 Beyonce Knowles and Lady Gaga have been nominated for nine MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
Both pop stars are up for the prestigious Video of the Year and Best Female Video accolades, Beyonce for Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) and Lady Gaga for Poker Face.
Beyonce, 27, said: "I'm excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs. I've been blessed this year to have Single Ladies become a video people really connected with and responded to.
"I've spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It's beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video." |

 Eminem stopped making music after his drug abuse spiralled out of control.
The 'We Made You' rapper decided to step out of the spotlight in 2005 in a bid to beat his addiction after an unsuccessful stint in rehab.
He said: "I wasn't ready mentally. I wasn't ready to give up the drugs. I didn't really think I had a problem. Basically, I went in, and I came out. I relapsed, and I spent the next three years struggling with it. Also, at that time, I felt like I wanted to pull back, because my drug problem had got so bad.
"I felt like, 'Maybe if I take a break, maybe this will help.' I started to get into the producer role more. I can still be out there with my music, but I don't have to be in the spotlight the whole time." |

Eminem's performance comes days after the release of his anticipated album Relapse, available May 19.

The rapper mocks the two singers, as well as other celebrities, in the video for We Made You, the lead track from his long-awaited album, Relapse.
The video features caricatures of Spears, Winehouse and her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil, Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson and Jessica Simpson.
One line takes a cheap shot at Lohan, who recently split from girlfriend Ronson after a series of blazing rows. |

 A LAWSUIT filed by Eminem against Universal Music has finally gone to trial.
The rapper took legal action against his record label two years ago claiming it owes him £1.1million ($1.6million) in unpaid royalties.
The lawsuit, on behalf of his publishing company FBT Productions, centres on royalties an artist receives when one of their songs or a ring tone is purchased online.
Although the payment is included in some contracts between labels and artists, there are a lot of cases where it is not given the same emphasis as the royalties earned from CD sales. |

 THE RELEASE date for Eminem's new album will be confirmed with weeks.
50 Cent, who appears on Relapse, Eminem's follow-up to 2004's Encore, said the album is currently being remixed by the star and Dr Dre.
He said: "His new album is almost actually done. I went to Detroit to mix my song 'I Get It In' with Dr. Dre – Eminem is currently mixing his album right now.
"It won't be more than maybe two weeks before they start trying to figure out when they will start scheduling the release of his actual project."

 THE LONG-AWAITED new single by Eminem has been released online in its entirety.
Crack A Bottle, taken from the rapper's forthcoming sixth studio album Relapse, was posted onto Aceshowbiz.com yesterday and is scheduled for a full release in the spring.
Unfinished versions of the song, featuring contributing vocals from Dr Dre and 50 Cent, were leaked onto the internet in November, much to the 36 year-old star's dismay. |

 50 Cent says Eminem will be the "number one rap artist" when he makes his comeback.
The 'In Da Club' rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - praised his former mentor, saying his new material will be far superior to any other hip-hop release.
He told BANG Showbiz: "I think when he comes back he will absolutely claim the spot as the number one rap artist.
"I get the opportunity to listen to material prior to its release and I'm sure it's better than anything that's out. "Eminem's different. A lot of material he has written is just scrapped, because it's got to feel like it's just happened, like it's new. That's just how he works as an artist."

Dr. Dre’s son dies |

 Dr. Dre’s son has died.
Andre Young Jr., 20, was reported to be unresponsive when his mother Nicole Young checked on him at around 10am on Saturday (23.08.08), so she immediately called emergency services to her Woodland Hills house.
It is not yet known how Andre died, but toxicology tests are being carried out to determine the cause of death.
Legendary rap producer Dre and his wife Nicole had not commented on the tragedy at the time of writing. |

 50 Cent has overtaken Jay-Z to be named the Hip-Hop Cash King of 2008.
The 'Candy Shop' singer topped the new list, compiled by Forbes.com, after making a staggering $150 million in the last 12 months. The musician's impressive earnings - mainly down to Coca-Cola buying out his stake in VitaminWater - ensured he shot straight to the top of the rankings, beating former King Jay-Z, who made $82 million.
50, real name Curtis James Jackson III, also owns G-Unit Clothing Company and has teamed up with Right Guard to launch a body spray and a line of condoms.
He has also starred in a number of movies, including ' Get Rich or Die Tryin'' and 'Home of the Brave'. Runner-up Jay-Z made his fortune by releasing a platinum-selling album and signing a 10-year deal with concert promoter Live Nation worth a reported $150 million. |

 It looka like the The Spice Girls won't be performing for Nelson Mandela at his 90th birthday celebrations in Hyde Park after all, according to Mel B.
The female supergroup, who reformed at the end of last year for a world tour, had been linked with the London event, which is expected to feature Eminem.
Speaking to the BBC, Mel B said that the Spice's "have a lot of stuff going on" and have pulled the event from their busy schedule.

A source said: 'Brian contacted Eminem’s management but never expected him to agree. It’s going to be explosive stuff and it’s certainly a big stage to make his comeback.'

 Eminem's record labels are being sued by the producers that first discovered him for a series of back royalty payments.
The lawsuit claims Aftermath, Interscope and others owe F.B.T. Productions and Em2M LLC. in excess of $1 million because Em's current record label miscalculated the royalties due them.
The lawsuit goes on to suggest that the record company admitted guilt last year but still haven't made any payments.
F.B.T. and another company involved in the deal, Em2M, are suing for back royalties, damages and fees. |

 Eminem has denied claims that he is considering a future in professional American wrestling.
The rap icon's future as a musician has been the subject of speculation for some time, as he takes an extended break from the pop frontline.
Over Christmas it was reported that he had been hospitalised with heart problems, having seen his weight balloon to an alleged 15 stone.
However, claims Eminem wants to enter the ring have been dismissed, with his publicist insisting he has "no interest whatsoever in becoming a wrestler".
"This 'source' is making stuff up", his spokesman said in response to tabloid claims that the star was just four months away from debuting in the WWE.

 Eminem was rushed into hospital in Detroit over the Christmas break and was treated for a 'serious heart condition' and 'severe pneumonia', a report claims.
The controversial rapper's weight is believed to have ballooned to 200lbs (14 and a half stones) in recent months, which has not helped his condition.
TMZ claims that Em – real name Marshall Mathers – has since been discharged from hospital and is now at home recuperating.

 It's been eight years since Dr. Dre released his sophomore album, 2001, and the rapper/producer is still working on it's follow-up, Detox. Unfortunately, the world is going to have to wait a while longer to hear from the good doctor. Dre insists that he's spending the next few months working on Eminem's forthcoming release.
"I was really hoping to have it [Detox] out this year, but it's going to have to be pushed back a while because of some other things I've got to work on," Dre told The LA Times. He says that Detox is still two or three tracks away from completion. |

minem, aka Marshall Mathers, aka Slim Shady, phoned in to New York City's Hot 97 radio station this morning to reveal that he has begun the recording process of what will be his first record in three years. According to Billboard.com, Eminem told the station, "For a while, I didn't want to go back to the studio...I went through some personal things. I'm coming out of those personal things [and] it feels good."
While working on his own songs in Detroit, Eminem is also hard at work developing new artists on his label, Shady Records. |
